just bought 3 minicats on ebay for $65.all need some work so perfect for brushless rebuild.any pointers as to what works and what didnt would be nice..can I use the octura mini hardware?Dont know a whole lot about rc stuff. Just built a BJ26 couldnt be happier.

mini-v's
I have purchased 12 mini-v's from that ebay place, three at a time. The last set of three, I got all three working.
Often times it is broken U-joints and I get rid of those anyways.
Sometimes it is the RC/ESC unit that is bad. Out of 12, I have had 3 or 4 bad. Either do not work at all, one part doesn't work, or interference makes it unusable.
Also have had bad servo's. These are week and will strip teeth internally or stop working.
One had a broken hull.
You should be able to get two working boats out of it, with one for spares. If you are going brushless, you only need the hull anyways.
