As you well know it depends on the capacity of your nimhs. I originally run 2 7.2v 3700mah racing sticks and was getting maybe 10 minutes

Today ive run 1 x 3s 4900mah lipo and 1 x 2s 4900mah lipo so 18.5v @4900mah and all i can say is WOW.... huge difference in speed the boat has become an animal lol.... lost the the hatch and had her inverted for 20 mins until the wind and water rolled her back over again. FORGET the nimhs and go for lipos. its well worth the investment... -2 tonight so i doubt i get much boating in for the next few days but REALLY impressed at 5s speeds. So much so i dont think i'll run 6s just doesnt seem any need. Today i only run a few minutes wot so unfortunately i cany say just how long runs i get them just yet.

And yes there is plenty of room for a 7 cell pack... im running 1 x 3s and 1 x 2s but have packed the 2s out with blue tack to balance the weight up.

Actually I think you will get closer to 30MPH with 12 NiMh. That was my result before switching to Lipos.

Read this first page, 12 cells broke 50mph. http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...obrien+12+cell

I read the thread but did not see where he was getting 50 MPH in a stock setup. If I am reading it correctly it looks like 50 was with new motor, hardware and prop.

I can say that my setup was just over 32 MPH , out of the box, bone stock, with 2 Trinity 6 cell, 4600MAH packs.

              Your mileage may vary.
