Good cheap motors?

Looking at brushless motors whats the better motor but yet still kind of cheap. building for my children to race each other. dont want nothing to expensive to get blown to pieces.

can i run it with the stock PB45amp ESC?

Depends on what kv you want to run, with a 45amp esc it will have to be a lower end kv and the only one steve has that will work with that looks to be a 540 14L and that is running very very close to the limits of the esc, prop it wrong and . Are they going into a BJ or something different?

Yes a bj hull okay so thats pretty much flying for what i want to do for them. the stock bj motor and esc on 5s is nuts i think i may let them run 3s maybe but still want big power capabilities. kinda rough spot right now. so do i need 380's or just a 540small new to electric motors and stuff if it dont have a piston and rings its foreign to me.

380's will be too small for that hull. What wrong with the stock motor on 4s?

Both stock motors de-magged and keep burning my escs on 5s. Plan on replacing those in my hulls. But for my kids i dont want them to have that much power which i can regulate with the volts just dont wanna spend the over 500 for 3 stock motors and 3 stock esc's catch my drift if i wanted to shell out that much id buy them something on land or Beef my boat up more! Keeping up two boats ain bad keeping 5 running at one time is like a second job with no money!

3 of these esc's & 3 of these motors and your set. Run on 4s.

awesome i have not looked at HK yet since i got a junk lipo charger. Do you think i could still run one setup 5s with no problems? Just in case i fry one of the other 2 Mind you i have 3 bj hulls and 2 apache with all the same hardware. 2 of the bjs fried and one apache just needs redone i screwed it on 5s lol.

Sadly HK is always a gamble lol.

Motor says it's rated for up to 5s so give it try. Crazy you blew to bj electrics. I say go for it. with that esc grab the programming card. If HK is out of stock grab the cheap swordfish card steve sells here.

Steve also sells those esc's their just called swordfishs their the same esc's. I'll keep looking and see if I can find another motor besides HK cause shipping from their is slow if you don't pick ems and expensive if you do pick ems.

Thanks i plan on ordering some of this stuff monday or sunday night so i can have it by the weekend. I need to come to NC and see how you guys do it up there. I havnt found anyone here yet thats into R/c beside cars and trucks. Thanks again for the help. so 1800kv= 1800rpm per volt right? so at 18.5 its 33,300rpm right?

How about going nuts with it and just putting dual or trip outboards on a BJ hull? i wonder how much of a difference that would make. I was looking at the true inboards like mercury sells (forgot the name) was thinking of doing a twin. i wonder what that would be like

This guy mudl is hitting in the 70s on his bj twin. I thought about doing it with mine, but sold the boat instead and got a Genesis, then sold the Genesis and gettin a DF33 copy
