I swim for it. Most people say never swim for your boat, but I figure Im safe since I was able to wade water for two hours outside of Pt Reyes while the Coast Guard responded.. I usually always swim first and tend to my boat second- in other words, I shove my boat forwards, then swim to it, and repeat until Im on shore..The RTR Nightmare- Electric King of Shaves
Now with 540s- 62mph
New setup- Etti 150A's, Turnigy 2600s, 5S, X442s and a whole lot of cooling hoses -
I use an Aquacraft Hammer and a push bar contraption I made out of 1/2" PVC. I found a post on here somewhere about rescue rigs, saw a pic of one I liked and made one similar to it. Ive consistantly used it everytime my BJ is in the water and it works like a champ.Attached FilesComment

I am lucky to have one of the world's known SAW lakes pretty much in my backyard... we actually
have a dingy and oars to go with it... it's locked at the lake in a little dry dock and NAMBA members can get keys to use it... it's great, specially in the summer when the weeds are 8+feet tall and just inches from the lake's surface... it's pretty dangerous.:::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .:::::::::::::::Comment

Hey mtk, what is it your trying to do? There are a few different ways to make a driveline. Ive got some straight shaft boats and flex shaft boats. Im starting to research wire drives as I hear using piano wire, you can put slight bends into them and they, because they are wire, will not contract when under a load as a flex would. But, thats all in the name of speed and whatnot. I would say, if your trying to scratch build something, your probably looking at a flex shaft, something like this http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...od=oct-oc64pkg
or a straight shaft, something like this http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...?prod=cen-BJ14
(pics just for reference, Im not saying to buy one or the other for size etc.)
Also, tell us what your "other stuff" is so we can help you out.Comment

Dude, that's perfect! I have a BJ26 that I'm attempting to either tame down or sell and get a 29" mono hull I can put a flood chamber in. I also have a Hammer EP that I no longer use and this would be perfect for rescuing my wily BJ26. Awesome.Comment
