    Hello,

    today's speed is 76.25mph with a 1716-17-45, 5000 mAh /45c packs charged at 4.2V per cell.
This more pitched prop sticks the startboad side to the water. I bought this prop by mistake, I wanted to buy the 1715...
Next , I will spend more time on this prop and I will put some weight on the port side, I already have some pictures from the GPS but no video. I will post a video of the next coming 80 mph+

Nice she's rippin'. If you want post it on the Veles fast list ( https://forums.offshoreelectrics.com...eles-Fast-List!!! ) I'll add you to the modified section. I believe this is the first Modded one I've seen that is actually running a with a gps. I got 83.5mph with my Geico v3 a couple of days ago with some fresh packs with my Dynamite combo LOL!...I need to get my Veles back out and get her wet along with my Zelos. Looking for better numbers with both boats.

            hello,

            thanks for your interest!
May be my Veles reached 80mph, but I have no proof, my Gps caught water 2 weeks ago, and failed shorly after...
I have a new one, which will be packed in some plastic wrap as a precaution...
Still, it will be difficult with this prop, because, it can either glue the boat on the starboard, or being airborne. Our pond is very small also, and I can crash the boat on concrete blocks...I will put back the original rudder blade, to see if the handling improves at these speed.
If I am not successfull, I will use some tricks to gain speed, keeping motor, esc, 6S standart.

I am still far off, but this boat should reach more than 80mph.

Today the mod-veles did 84mph;had one serious flip at ~80mph
anyways, first lap with fresh packs was the fastest.
Hull can take a good hit-no damage was done..
Maybe time to get one of those top notch props.

I replaced the stock rudder and the mounting block on my geico with the Veles breakaway rudder it bolts right on. I feel much better now.

Thinking about trying of of these and had some questions:
                      1) Is the stock flex all better now, or should I just replace it with a .187 cable and lose the liner (not a big liner fan) ?
                      2) Wanting to run this on 6s for efficiency but I know the 2000 KV motor will be a little hot so does anyone run 6s in oval trim (no interest in SAW running) and if so what smaller prop is recommended? I have a couple 40mm ABC 2 and 3 blade chopper style props I can try first. I would be happy with 55mph in oval trim for a 2-3 minute run.
                      3) I am assuming the boat comes configured for a series battery setup but I like to run all my boats in parallel whenever possible so what is the max height lipo and weight that is recommended in this hull? If 6s will fit under the deck I would like to run 6s 3000mah packs in parallel.

                        Raydee,
I have yet to break my stock flex but I changed it out anyways to a .150 cable that Travis (kfxguy) made for me. The tallest Lipo I was able to get in the boat was a 5000mah 4s that is 39mm tall and it wouldn't go all the way back in the tray but it was real close and a very tight fit to get in the boat. Yes, the boat has the series plug made onto the esc as well. I have a video somewhere of my boat running laps with a special tricked out Prather ss220 from Chris and the boat got 62mph with it. I ran the entire 6s setup WOT laps the whole run and temps were no hotter than 125° on both esc and motor in 90° weather. With a x440-3 the speed was high 60's right at 70mph. Can't remember the temps but they were tolerable.

Ok last question for a little while, what is the width of the battery tray? The lipo's I am looking to use are a little on the wide side.

The trays are 45mm wide. However they aren't very deep and the straps are pretty long (almost too long IMO) and they will accommodate a wider pack if you use a silicone mat or similar in the bottom of the tray to slightly raise the pack up to allow them to slightly hang over the edge of it and you would probably be good. I use the silicone battery mats from Hobby king and they work well to keep the packs in place in my other boats that have the composite trays that tend to be a little on the slick side. BTW Horizon currently has this boat on sale for $399.00.
