    SV27 Project Missile

Iv'e been thinking long about getting an SV27, but really want to do something out of the ordinary with it. Iv'e been thinking about a Neu 1515 1y(2200Kv), Castle Hydra 240 and a 5s1p setup. Not sure about a prop that would best suit this setup but I was thinking something like an X642 or Prather ss220. I welcome all comments, as I am trying to find the most ballistic setup possible for this boat!

Others have done similar conversions with the SV27, the setup is capable of 60 mph....but the hull is not. You will spend quite a bit of time retrieving a flipped boat, even on smooth water. Your run time will likely be pretty short due to heat issues. That will stress the controller and the cells. All that said, if you want to go GPS racing with that hull the component choice is pretty good. Personally if it were me I'd choose a larger, better hull.

Get a delta force hull. You will be pleased!

Yeah, I agree with Fluid! That's a waste of money! This hull is just not capable of those speeds! I have a hard time keeping mine shiny side up allmost stock running 2-2s 5000 lipo packs! Ur better off spending the 250. on a quality hull especially since your just gonna tear it apart and throw away half the parts anyways! It is a great rtr boat for the price but it's far from a saw racer!

I have a new sv27 white spare hull and new SV hardware and radio I will part with for $150 shipped. Pm me for info. I have another sv that runs in 60mph range. I like the X445 or M445 props the best. I think the x6 prop seem to have to much lift for the SV at high speed. To aid in not flipping keep weight low and rudder tucked and tabs at 0deg and COG at about 8.5inch and it will still flip but any boat will flip at 60mph. I still have a lot of fun with mine.

              Thanx

Thank you to all who have responded. I was basically just testing the waters to see if it was a worthy setup or not. I kind of figured that it was a bit over-kill for this peticular hull, but I just wanted some sort of confirmation from some experts out there before I went and wasted the cash.

I agree with fluid and the others. they are 100% correct it will flip, it is over kill for that hull with out a doubt. But if you are like me it is fun to push thing past what they should do. I have gone 60 in that hull that's what i was aiming for. I did it and then i put it back to stock. and put the parts into i much more suitable hull my DF29 a boat that will go 50s all day and turn on a dime If you choose to make the SV fly its fun and good luck but soon I have a feeling the parts will end up in a better hull.
