    motor upgrade.

hey i was looking into the fiego motors and being new to electrics, which motor would be best for the most speed with a lot of "jump out of the water" torque? and are they more powerfull than stock sv bl? ill most likely het the barracuda esc depinding on the motor selection.
    thanks

The 9XL or the Ammo motor should push it pretty well.

There is also a 2600KV version of the stock motor listed with Great Planes...

I think the SV27 motor "Stock Number" is GPMG5315, which is 1800KV, and the other is GPMG5320, which is 2600KV... That would pump the RPMs up to around 31,000 or so... and would bolt right in place... Specs show max surge current at 55Amps, so the ESC "MAY" hold up to it as well...

As long as you don't use to large of a prop.

If you would want to stick with the same speed control the Ammo motor would be the better choice. If you went with the 9XL you most likely need to get a different ESC.

what size do ya reckon ?? would the x440 be too large ??

i m guessing the cf48 would spell the death of the esc :)

i have that motor, the ammo one,and it holds up fine with stock sv esc..x440/3,x642/2,hell even a x447/3 will really get the boat pumpin just watch out on batts though.heats them suckas right up.

a 440 would probably be ok, but I would start with a x435, then work your way up. this stuff is to expensive to burn up on the first run!

mega 22/35/1e 2500kv or mega 22/45/1 2550kv both are 6 pole so stock esc will work the 22/45 will have more torque due to its 45mm long rotor.

I went with the Ammo for two reasons.
                        1 grimracer recommended it.
2 dirtysouty31, who runs boats with me, uses it.

Nothing I did to mine was able to keep up with his. Now he put that thing in his Vegas, & I put the stock SV motor in my Bud. He's still about 10mph faster on a heavier boat. I got the Ammo yesterday, thatnks Steven. We'll see :D

with the kv ratings, does a higher number mean more power?

                            Higher number means more RPM
