    Tips for my modified SV...

    Hello

I've had my SV for a month or so now and ran it completly stock, with DTX4200 6cells batteries and a Grimracer 40x52 3 blade propeller.
I have now modified it with a Ammo 2300 motor, CC BEC and runs it on EP4500 7 cells. I also replaced the propeller with a K48.
The boats seems faster and the acceleration is awesome, but I feel it could have a bit higher topspeed. The batteries also got very hot, like smokin' hot....? Any tips on what to do next?
I also added the OSE adj. trim tabs an the left turn fin. This really made the boat superb to handle.

Sv's are known to be Nicad Killers need to get 4000 to 49000 lipo's or higher, 7.4 volt
25 to 30 c burst and the boat will be a monster hope this helps.............

I thought maybe 11.1v might give me more bang....

I'm aslo going to install the CC Hydra 120 ESC and upgrade the cooling-system just to be on the safe side....

PS: I run NIMh batteries today, not NiCd.....

If you run two 11.1v batterys in series on the CC120, Id make sure you start with a smaller prop.

22.2V Will be killer and your ESC If you use the props that you have now.

You do realise that you will be trying to spin that Ammo2300 at about 51,000 rpm on 22.2 volts (6s).
Not sure it's going to like that, & the prop size you'll need, to keep the smoke inside everything, may be too small to get the boat going.
The K448 in my opinion is way too big for the Ammo on 12 cells. Hence the smokin' hot batteries.
Try an Octura M640 or M642. The Grim Racer 40mm x 55mm/3 blade is also a good one.
Those props will also be great on 4s lipo. Not 6s (22.2V) though.
                All the best.
                Paul.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Thanks for the replies, Im pretty new in this hobby and need all the advice I can get

I ordered some 2s 5000mAH 30C from Poly RC and I also ordered a hydra120, a feigao 8xl plus some cooling stuff from OSE. Hopefully this will make my sv move.

Took the sv out for a spin today, but when I hit throttle it runs very uneven. If I hold the throttle all in it only goes on/off/on/off/on/off....... I took it out of the water and it worked just fine, but when I put it back in its the same thing all over again.
Any suggestions on whats wrong with it folks???
