I am running 2x Turnigy nano-tech 5000mah 25-50c lipos. I also have the 40-50c bats, but the nanos fit a lot better.

I changed the angle of the strut and I'll see if that helps next week.
Ok, I was just wondering about batteries. Did you sharpen and balance the new prop? I know the strut can be a pain to adjust. I removed a little material on a few of my SV's struts and you can move it a little more. Hope you get it figured out.

The props are all S&B. Yeah the strut didn't want to budge so it took a little pushing back and forth. It's definitely more neutral now. We'll see next weekend! :)

Hi which park are you running at? I'm glad to see you like my set up it's hard to see the attitude that the boat is running at but it needs to be real loose to run fast move the cg back as far as you can post some picks of your boat and I'll see if there is any thing I can help with OK.

Hey! I was running it at Eisenhower Park, in Long Island. My CG is 8 3/4" from the transom. Should I put the batteries further back? I'll post some pics tomorrow when I get home. I really like your setup and that's why I was trying to figure out why I couldn't get to your speed :)

              Pics of Setup

Alright, here are some pics of how the boat is set up. The batteries would go right where the velcro straps are. If you'd like more specific pics just let me know. Hope this helps!

From the looks of your pics your CG may be way too forward. It's hard to say because you need to just find it with actual measurements and not visual. Majority (including me) would have the batteries go only half way up the motor from the transom. I used to run mine with 28% cog or around 7.5" from the transom.

The reason that I put them there is because I was told that the CG for this boat should be 8 3/4" from the transom, so that's what I did. Maybe they should be a bit further back, but that's where the CG is right now.

If your wanting speed than you need to let the hull air out. By moving the cog back it will do that. I never ran anything but a neutral stinger on my sv and just tuned with the tabs and prop. I would start with a neutral setting and keep moving the batteries around till you find the correct hull attitude. The more aired out the faster it will be but with the unstableness. The wetter it runs the slower it will be plus hotter, but more stable.

Hope this helps you grasp the concept a little better.

I never changed the angle of the strut, but I now realized that it wasn't completely neutral so I changed it. Trim tabs and rudder are also neutral. I will try moving the batteries back as well!

Oh and the boat hasn't been running wet, it's been pretty good. But I guess to get that top speed you need to be as loose as possible. Thanks!

WOW that's far up. I run mine WAY further back then you. The leading edge of my battery is inline with rail. If you watch the video of my sv in my signature at the end you can see my battery placement. That's y your motor is so hot, it's running too wet.

                        Notice where my velcro is:

Wow! That really is a lot further back than where mine are. Makes a lot of sense, haha. I'll definitely put them further back next time. Do you know where your CG is? I guess I've been running WAY too wet.

I am almost positive you just found your problem. I run mine way farther back also. just about where the stock trays were. Hope you got it.

Nope I don't know the numbers just know what works on my boat lol. I run turnigy/zippy packs so the little out post where the wires come out is hugs the rail if that makes sense. My edge of my pack is just ever so slightly forward of my rail to allow for the room for the wires on the packs. In the video I think their is a pic of the batts in the boat.

Yup, this was most likely the problem! And with the adjusted rudder it should do much better.

And Diesel, I saw the pics in the video and I get what you're saying about the wires at the end of the rails. I'll add some more velcro along the sides for the batteries.

                                Thanks!
