That motor just might work fine. Has the advertised power (more) and can turn a performing sized prop for the hull. But there is little information on line about these motors. Sometimes its not whats been said but the lack of it. Cheap does not equate to good. And we all strive for better then good. Take your chances or err on the side of known. Its your dime.
Well... I wanna give it a try and see how is works with this hull... Might be too much torque im told, so we'll see. No big deal if it doesn't.. it seems like some people like outrunners and some don't.. Price doesn't always make a difference.. I've seen some good videos of people using outrunners in boats with great success.. I'll keep everyone posted...
I hope so.. thanks for the encouragement Brushless.. I have a UL-1 in it now and it's pretty fast.. I just wanna try one of those outrunners.. i need the UL-1 motor for my Shovel-nose im getting.. :)
new guy here ...what is a outrunner motor anyway? is it a brand name or a type of motor? thanks
Real quick answer. Outrunners typically lower kv, lot's of torque, less amp pull, run cooler (windings are in the middle of the can, magnets line the can), inrunners typically higher kv, more amps, higher rpms (magnets in the middle, winding line the the can). Like I said real quick answer, and I said typically. I'm sure someone will give you a all out scientific answer.
