    SV27 Couple won't come off

I ordered a new couple from OSE, but there's a problem, I can't get the old one off. I took out the screw, and sprayed WD 40 into and around the coupler. Does anyone have any idea how to get it out?

You are probably going to need to remove the motor/coupler from the mount and gently heat the coupler to get it off...if the coupler won't fit through the hole in the mount you will need to remove the mount.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to, since the coupler does not fit through the hole in the mount, and I accidentally put epoxy in one of the screws that hold the mount while reinforcing the boat. If I have to I will, but maybe there's another way.

Might try a soldering iron to heat the coupler and then gently pry it off. Aluminum will expand more than steel, so it will loosen itself when heated.

Alright, I'll try the heating idea since everyone's suggesting it. I'll give it a shot tomorrow, thanks!

Woot! Finally got it off. I just put the new coupler on and it looks awesome. I have some questions which I will post in a new thread.
