How to waterproof servo rudder linkage??

For my SV I siliconed all the screws and such on the transom, however I didn't do anything to the rudder linkage. Low and behold my last run at the pond flipped my SV and pulled the rubber grommet from the transom. Thus my boat took on LOTS of water.

I'm in the process of drying everything out, but I need to waterproof this rudder linkage grommet somehow, any suggestions?

My initial thoughts are to epoxy it to the transom, as I don't think silicone will hold.

    Seals every thing

If you are talking about the rubber boot for rudder push rod Black 3M super Silicon works great unlike house hold silicon it dries very hard and won't peal off make sure you use some alcohol to remove any oil or wax from around the hole. You can also use the alcohol for clean up if you put to much on.
    Good Luck

RTV or silicone should have more then enough adhiesion characteristics to keep the linkage boot attached to the hull. Especialy if you put the boot thru the hole in the hull and then apply sealant to both sides. You can also use shoe goo which has better mechanical properties then silicone and it remains flexible too.
