You mean whats the official speed record an SV27 has achieved? I think the racers at Valdosta set it at 49 mph. I seem to remember that number. Some folks claim to have achieved some very high speeds. Like over 60mph! I cant get mine that fast. And mine is 100% SAW. 1512/1.5D on 3S with a CC240. And I have plenty of unused power. Its just the hull becomes very unstable at high speeds and wont stay on the water. It will blow over almost every time.

Every hull has its speed limit, adding more power doesn't mean it will go any faster with reliability. The SV27 was designed for speeds in the 30s but can go a little faster. The root cause is too much lift and too short length. You can add weight at the CG, up to a pound to keep the boat on the water by balancing the lift forces with gravity. But eventually the boat becomes so heavy that it will not corner well. The way to beat the knock-off DF is to get a real DF.
Some claims of GPS speeds over 50 mph are likely true. There is a huge difference between a GPS speed (where the boat only achieved the top speed for a few feet) and an official SAW record (where two consecutive passes over 330 feet long have to be recorded). The latter is far harder to do than it would appear to the uninitiated.

The Florida Wave Blasters race stock amd modified SV classes. There may be others but I'm not aware of them.
We had the Fastest SV 27 competition at a SAWs event at Blue Lake in Valdosta Ga. a few years ago. That is the event John was refering to.

The problem with the SV is the same with any model - it has a hull-limited top speed and even unlimited power will not push the boat faster. The boat has to stay on the water and the prop has to stay in full contact with the water to achieve top speed. The SV has too much lift over 50 mph to stay stable. You can add weight to help offset the lift. but that only helps a little. If you cannot get there with a 2400 Kv motor on 4S, don't waste your money on higher voltage and more expensive motors. Get a more appropriate model like a Titan 40 or DF33.
