    Motor getting hot stationaire drive

    Hello,

Question : at a stationaire run - not in the water - no watercooling on - free run.
Is it normal the the motor is getting hot (after 30 sec. you can not touch it any
    more). Stock motor.

I tried another brushless motor (non stock 2300KV), this one does not get hot at all (just a little warm).

Brushless motors are horribly inefficient without a load placed on them and can burn up if run out of the water. It is normal for them to get hot, but really not advisable.

30 seconds! ditto above comment. There is no reason to run a BL motor out of water for that long. doing similar my cousin or I could have lost an eye, I revved a motor with a prop on it, and the prop was not balanced well enough...any way, it broke the shaft and flew across the room...that could have been and eye! an 8th of a throttle for a second to see if its working and the rest is for the water. These are not toys, just miniaturized machines.

Thanks guys, i did not know how serious the action was. Will do the testing in the water. I have ordered additional to the stock motor an Turigny 2300KV motor (according to me the same as the ammo), and will maken as soon as i have received it test runs - in the water - Anyone advise running this motor ? I have the stock controller.
