A few months ago I had a pretty nasty high speed roll that pulled the stringers up from the hull so I glassed the stringers back down and set the boat aside and started a new project.Today I decided to pull the supervee out and get it going again and noticed the gel coat cracking on the seems on the sides of the hull so I pulled all the factory wood out and made new stringers of 3mm carbon fiber and will cover the inside with CF cloth to try to stiffen up the bottom and sides of the hull.Really I am posting this to get ideas for a good set up in the supervee I will mount the motor down a little further forward than stock but here are some pics of what I've got so far.

The carbon fiber is a lot easier than it looks as far as cutting parts out of a sheet. This was actually cut by using the original stringers as a template the I only made them a little longer to support the weight of the can the whole length of itself as I think that is the problem with the original stringers. The only problem is it is a little costly I paid $60 for a 3mm sheet 9"x 12" but this is the 2nd project using the sheet and it will be worth it in the endComment

Oh, and as far as the General Vee it's going to need a paint job when I get the gel coat sanded down on the sides so I'm thinking Red Bull, that should look pretty good on the supervee .I am after the 60 mph mark but I think only because I was so close (56.4 MPH) the boat should ride the water better with the weight of the motor pushed up forward so it should be more capable and hopefully it will be able to take a wipeout without damage. Sorry about the double post i forgot about you ChrisComment

I have to order the carbon fiber resin so I don't think the supervee will make it but that cat I was working on is finished and running good .Comment

I like the servo placement to leave a little more room for the electronics. This boat was a mess before I would like to set it up a little neater this time. Also ,I'm not for sure yet but I'm thinking of a rattle can paint job but I'm wondering how well it holds up and which would be the best paint to useComment

I've decided to go with the Red Bull theme here are the pics with the repair done and the silver metallic base coat it will look like the Red Bull can.......hopefully. Tomorrow I will get the blue metallic on over the silver then I'll be waiting on decals. By the end of the weekend I hope to have the paint done and all the carbon fiber in the boat.Attached FilesComment
