    Lucas Oil strut adjustment

I just got a Lucas Oil cat. After reading some of the threads here, and my past experience, I'm sure I need to blue print the bottom.
I put the boat on a set up board and I noticed the strut angle was set with a LOT of negative trim (similar to the set up for a rigger) and the back of the strut was slightly below the bottom of the boat. Is that the normal set up for this boat? (My gas cat, which is a much larger, heavier boat with a more powerful motor is just the opposite, positive angle with the strut above the bottom). I intend to run an 'M445" prop. Any feedback on running a strut with a skeg? The boat hasn't been to the water yet, waiting on props.
