So I take the UL down to the water ! Its deffinatly faster now but seems to be going into thermal shut down ?? Is it possible to drill out port in rudder to allow more water flow ?? I tried several prop depth settings ! What is the best place to start for depth ?? How do I measure or where do I measure from

I used to run mine all the way up. As for your rudder, best thing is to file the front edge of the blade sharp, the use small round file to bring the hole to the front edge of the blade. No need to drill.

No offence mate but you shouldnt try for 15 minute runtimes. Your either going to blow stuff up until you read and learn about this stuff or get sick of it and leave the sport. Boats are way different than RC cars, they use way more battery power. 5 minutes is plenty and you should be checking temps and volts after that time anyway. Then when you have a good read on your setup you can stretch it out a couple minutes more maybe, but i would think thats about it. Run the largest MAH batteries you can in parallel for good runtime and to give you extra headroom. Good luck.

Thnx guys ! Its deffinatly a whole different monster ! Wont be leaving the sport anytime soon ! Going to look at a gasser I found ! Has a 26cc motor. That should get me closer to the run times im looking for. tell me this, how many batteries do you bring to play for the day ? Im thinking I will need a min of ten batteries ?? Being that the UL needs two to run.Thinkig cooldown time and recharge time without wackn batteries too hard! Deffinatly going to grab some less aggresive props. That should increase my run time a little?

To get one of those big weed whacker boats to go as fast or even close to the speeds of your UL1 you are going to need some deep pockets . I mean very deep ! but yes they will run for hours on a tank of gas .
