How much do Lipos vent during discharge?

Does anyone know of where I can find specs or even general guidelines regarding how much lipos vent during discharge?

AFAIK they don't vent during discharge ...only when abused/shorted

Are you sure? I'm working on an waterproof enclosure for lipos and I'm trying to determine if the enclosure needs to be vented.

      Thanks.

Only if you go below cut-off voltage will they vent/expand.

As far as I know vents are safeties in round cells like NiMH and Nicad. I don't think there are vents in Lipo. You should double check with the manufacturer.

They are sealed packages. They don't vent. They might puff a little under high discharge, but ever are they open to the air anywhere unless they have failed. Then they usually like to let the extra gas out with a flame.

That was my understanding, that they were sealed. Any hole in them would lead to serious damage(fire/explosion)

Thanks for the input guys. It looks like no bleeder valve, but I'll check with a few manufacturers to be sure.
