I have an out-of-state friend whose young son is absolutely thrilled watching my old ProBoat Mystic 29 screaming around the lake when they are in the area, visiting.
I recently sent them the inexpensive 4wd small-scale RC buggy I let them play with when they were here. It is made by WlToys, a Chinese company, and is a really excellent value in a budget RC buggy. The model has a following even among more serious RCers owning more expensive, high-quality RC cars/trucks/buggies.
He just called to thank me and he asked for a recommendation on an RC boat. His parents have a summer house on a local impoundment and I think the boat would have to be a little larger than the really inexpensive little models.
The same company that makes that RC buggy I gave them makes a self-righting brushless 3-cell boat: the WlToys WL916. It has good reviews but most mention the steering is over-sensitive. I guess that's not great for a young boy, but this seems to be the most bang for the buck I've found.
Any recommendations for a different boat? ($100-$150)
Thanks,
Bob
