How to clean ESC burn mess

Hello fellow boaters, I had a little accident at the lake last Sunday. The ESC decided to burn up and spread all this black tar-like mess all over the inside of my boat. Do you guys know what works best to clean that goo off ?

Try a paste made of baking soda.

I have sprayed a light coat, over the burnt location inside of the hull with clearcote. It sealed the odor with no problems.

Methylhydrate, works quick. 1 or 2 wipes with a saturated paper towel and goodbye mess and smell.
I try and avoid paste eaters.

The best thing for cleaning the smell and discoloration from your hull is denatured alcohol. Use it generously.

              That made me laugh...

What about Acetone? But it may be too harsh on the paint. I will try both denatured alcohol and Acetone tomorrow. If i can find some Methylhydrate, I will try that too.

Acetone doesn't work, but denatured alcohol will make the smell and the stain disappear. Just apply it liberally, brush it around a little with a paint brush, and then wipe it off with a rag.
