    Sea king 180 v3 ESC

Hi all..... Are we finding it better to use an external BEC and batt on this esc...to avoid heat and LVC issues....say..on a 40/92. 1900 kv on 5 or 6s..... Already added another cooling line..... Or ....run as is....? Thanks...

I run a separate battery and add an 8800uF cap pack to it.

I put a EBEC on one of my SK 180 and have been running 4082 1600KV on 6s with no problems. Did that from the start after upgrading from the 120 I burnt up to the 180, why risk burning a expensive ESC when the EBEC's are cheap.

Been a while. To confirm, you just pull the red (pos) pin from the esc to receiver plug?

Yes. But I use a 3 in. servo extension. disconnect the red wire in the extension. Then you still have a good connection point when you want to program your ESC.

I also do this in twin setups, I use two extensions connected together with the red wire disconnected at the radio end.

                        Not necessary on the SK180

How is it NOT necessary if you use a program box to program your ESC's and use a receiver battery or a U-BEC?

The SK180 has a separate connection strictly for the program box. There's a wire from the box that plugs into the top edge of the esc.
