She sees a boat and ask "How much was that one?", so I tell here. The only thing I don't tell her is how much the Lipo's, motor, hardware, and ESC cost. That is not lieing, just not telling the whole truth!

She doesn't ask me about how much I spend on the hobby, as long as I don't ask her how much she spends on shoes!

I try to limit the number of parcels she sees. She never asks and definitely doesn't know. I try to warn her that a big one is coming so there is no issue. She did accuse me of being mentally ill when I sneak back into the shop after dinner to "check on the batteries" or "spray one more coat" but since I make all the bread, she really has no position to complain. Besides, my doctor highly recommends them too, as well as my dentist, and above all my therapist! I just have to suck it up when she says, "honey, can we make an appointment for my hair?"

My counter part knows I buy a lot of FE stuff, she never asked me how much, but she says I spend too much on my toy boats...
I say, let her think they are toys... toys are cheaper.

I come home from the pond and start raving about how good a run session I have had and she shares my excitement for about 4 to 5 seconds and her eyes begin to glaze over again. SHE is thinking "him and his model boats, again "
I occasionally get the "Are you building another one??"replied to with the old"No-no this is just modifications, aka new hull and similar hardware.
Then there is the matter of the BIG tug now on the build bench, SHE could not miss that one.
As far as cost goes, SHE don't ask much I don't tell much. We are all happy.
                      See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

DIVORCE that is how you deal with the bull*!***!***!***!**! I did and got myself a girlfrend instead. When she got upset because of my hobbie I told her to piss off and got another one. I kid you not! Just ask Paddy. As far as I am concerned I would prefer to spend my cash on a boat and not taking some leach out for the night.
Now as for Paddy goes he tells his lovely wife that Andy can not get this boat to run because he is stupid and gave it to me to get going!!!!!!!!!! I kid you not. Just try to do that to often mate My black mail bill is in the mail Paddy you rich young man.

Guilty, but it worked Andy and I did get that boat going. All it needed was a battery. LOL
She thinks all my friends are dumb as they are always giving me boats or boat parts.
                            Smoke and mirrors Andy!!!

                                OK, first lomdel, good thread!

Second, Xzessperated is in denial that that conversation works! Again

Third, Flying Scottsman needs a PO box. Again

Eyecandy? 27 pairs of shoes? I think you should reevaluate your situation. Just think how many boats that would pay for! Just ask Diego, it seems he knows something about shoes...

Me? I'm in the same boat as Jesse...I make all the bread, so there isn't a lot of discussion since there isn't much to say. However, she does enjoy coming to the pond, so that's a plus. She doesn't understand the attraction, but accepts it. The only real issue that comes up is I use her Ebay account, so she sees the actual cost. For some reason, this entitles her to spend more money. I'm still working on that, LOL.

So do you believe all this? I think I may have to try Xzessperated tactics by all these people giving me parts, boats, etc. Oh crap, I'm already doing that!

                                (respectfully in denial)
