Agreed. Proboat has/had Darin that has a reputation and AQ had Mike Z who would use the team racers for feedback on new stuff prior to market.
I race. I want to know about racing it. That rot I posted earlier about how it behaves.
We may have to just get one to ever get that kind of data. That's what we did with the Pursuit. Liked the way they looked, bought some from FighterCat back then, and raced em. Turned out pretty well. The trouble with these is that they are only available as RTR. I have no interest in the SSS motor and what am I going to do with a low end Flysky radio really? Add it to the pile of Tactic and Proboat radios I don't use I guess.
Apparently just you n' me Howard. Just you n' me. haha
Tony.......that's glorious.
the first version is probably a good saw boat..didn't corner great..new one is really close to where I want it..once perfect..will change the molds..Comment

I agree with you terry..but have given up on getting just a hull..but on a positive note..my prototype cat is testing well..still making small changes..but its pretty close..

there is a thread here somewhere..custom motley crew..its been over a year in making and testing..just doing some minor changes to the way it releases air..it is not a motley crew anymore..just the hull I started with..sorry its under major mods to motley crewComment

Give him and the hulls some time. He's done a nice job with the paint design and hull looks. Time will tell on performance.
The layups looked to be a bit better/thicker than some of the other RTR cats out there. I would definitely reinforce one if I planned on running 100mph or something, but for oval racing and typical sport running, I think they are likely pretty solid.
The MTI style hull looks like it would nicely accommodate twins...just sayin'.Steven Vaccaro

I can agree mostly but, my fg Cheetah had the inlay messed up in one sponson badly. The inlay helped keep mine from getting cut in half in MI.
Lots of room to fix though...IMG_20151027_153126.jpgAttached FilesNortavlag Bulc

I have no complaints about my TFL layups. My Cheetah had issues with the last pad being too steep but that's not a quality control issue. I have 4 carbon boats from them that I assembled. Pretty stellar. Especially for mass production. Ty set that 2 lap oval record with a standard glass Libero. No fancy carbon or additional reinforcement.
Heyyyyyyy, a bare carbon MTI and build it myself my way? No sirrrr!
Ray, I think that's an impaling not a cut in half........ing. That was painful to watch and painful to retrieve sir. Can't believe you put it back together.Noisy personComment

There seem to be a couple of schools of thought about that being right/not-right. Sounds like a driver/setup preference to get it to work.

I've come to the conclusion that the pad is like that to help keep it on the water and combat its flighty demeanor (being that wide and going fast help it take flight). The rear pad may be a major hindrance with the props we had available before unless you mod a prop to seriously bring the nose up. I've built a few of these that have been very very fast, stable and turn like its on rails. Maybe this new hull won't have the handicap like a cheetah does and it may do well without much effort.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

Well it seems the only way (in light of it seems no serious reputable racer is gonna get handed one) that this is going to get solved is if someone buys one and starts playing with it. So who will it be...?NZMPBA 2013, 2016 Open Electric Champion. NZMPBA 2016 P Offshore Champion.
2016 SUHA Q Sport Hydro Hi Points Champion.

haha In there with the rest of the garbage.
I compared mine to the bottom on a Sprint which was supposedly the basis of the design when Fightercat developed it. My Cheetah was quite a bit steeper. Drove like a snow shovel with the CG pretty far back. Ran better with some shaving.
We had two that handled that way up here and one that was dead solid perfect out of the box. I don't know. I never figured out why each one ran different.Noisy personComment

Wow...you guys are hard a new RTR that hands down is better built than 90% of the other crap many sell. I remember when Mike brought his Hydro out and it was ooo and ahhh but had more issues than you could shake a stick at...bad cables, leaking and turnfins coming off and motor mount issues.
I am an offshore follower (just look at my youtube channel...oh and you will see Mike in a few! Mike has exceeded what most only dream of...actually racing a real boat (skater no less) at top speeds and in the ocean! My point is, why tear this thing up before you know? Of course he is hyping it up but I would too! Hyping too much...No more than many of these gps speeds that are not suspect!
We are lucky to have someone with real racing knowledge that knows how to trim a boat and dial one in. Most of us are FE geeks and want hulls only but let the guy get out the gate so maybe he will sell some hulls down the road...first thing is his ROI!
I do not plug anyone but I do think fair is fair. This post has gone all over the place...moderators keep this stuff in check...I see at least one did a few posts back...thank you!!Comment
