I pre-ordered the Pro Boat Voracity 36 yesterday. As mentioned in the other thread, Horizon Hobby is running their free shipping on orders over $99 for the holiday weekend and I found a Horizon Hobby coupon code online for 10% off good until 07/20/2015, so the total cost was $476.99 shipped.
I was about to grab the Pro Boat Impulse 31 v3, however, I wanted a little larger hull, and 36" was exactly the size I was hoping to locate, but stayed away from the Traxxas Spartan as I personally didn't feel it filled my desires in the overall package for the price point.Comment

Maybe it wasn't clear that the videos and data were taken using a Production sample of the boat, a process that Rafael managed to get put in place. He must approve a Production Sample prior to them being loaded on the boat from China. And they must be being loaded on the boat prior to Pro Boat making the official announcement. All good things, I think.
We know what it's going to do.
In RTR Form (prop, etc...) It's going to go around 47-49mph with decent packs and that shouldn't require much tweaking at all. 50-53mph can be had with just basic turning and a solid set of 3S packs (6S total, just to be clear). One of the testers reported getting around 57-59 mph out of the factory system. Not sure what exactly he did to do that, but based on the power available, it shouldn't be hard to make happen. A REALLY good set of packs would help there. All of this while the hull maintains a very solid ride and stability. In other words, NOT running the hull on the ragged edge of being upright.
I would expect some heat build-up in the 5.5mm contacts, especially between the ESC and the motor, on 6S. The ESC itself should hold up well with the factory prop or similar. Obviously, if you push the system too hard, you'll... well... push it too hard. Not rocket science.
Honestly, anyone with some experience in RC Boats should be able to read the specs, and, knowing the type of hull and power system involved, should be able figure out about what the performance will be. It's not a mystery, in my opinion... These combinations are pretty well proven at this point.Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

Lessons learned... Stiletto... Original MG... etc... Yes, we know. Rafael is working hard to make sure that doesn't happen again.

I think that's why we have OSE.com...
Or are you really suggesting that people would just buy it and run it as it comes? Like THAT has ever happened...

I think you guys came up with a very good balance of size and speed.
most people understand why you can't release a 75-80mph boat.Comment

You know people are going to run this thing on 6s and prop up which leaves no head room on the esc proboat could have put a 180a(right way) and added x cost probably not that high consider there is nothing in rtr that's going to come close. Spartan. But know not your call.Comment
