Hi Model 200 amp & ab Wild Thing

Just thought I would let you all know that I rebuilt my 31" Wild Thing after hitting a log and losing an inch of the nose. My kids wanted a boat to run when we go to the lake so a cheap power source and low amps was the go. Settled on a 10xl, Hi Model 200 amp esc and 4s 4350 25c PQ packs. Ran her on the weekend for the first time, started with a CF 45mm prop and Oh Boy 45mph on the GPS . The kids said slow it down so whent to a 40mm CF and ran consistant 39 mph. Temps were packs 105, esc 95 and motor 90. No water cooling on the esc!!!
I ran a m447 at the end of the day to see what it would do and cracked 50mph!!! That esc only came out at 120 deg F, I was very suprised to say the least!!!! Cheap, fast and low amps!!!!

Nice Job! I might have to try one of those ESC's in a nice economy setup.

That is incredible Andy. I know we talked on the phone about this but it makes you wonder why we pay big money for motors and amps when sometimes spending a whole lot less money gets the same results. I guess time will tell about the reliability of the setup.
Good to see a father that does things with his kids.

I am posting the pics of your Wild Thing that you sent me on the email to show others just what that 10 XL motor is doing

Thanks Paddy and no one was more surprised than me, I thought that it mite have been miss labeled as a 10xl but with the 40mm prop the run time on a 4350 mah pack is over ten minutes!! This hull runs real dry though and handles like it's on rails.

As long as you keep the amp draws down near 100 or so with that esc things should be fine. The 200 amp rating must be a misprint or maybe a 5 second peak rating because mine thermals out constantly if pushed much.ie: in my case an 8XL and x440 prop is too much for any lengthy run time at full throttle with that esc
