for the record, i am watching this one.
after selling off every rc i had.... I've been thinking about building a biggerish mono this year. i wanted to do a kbb45 but too much money. so I've turned my attentions towards a mono that can take some serious chop.
There's a hole at the center of earth where the rest of the world sinks but i stand still...

I've already made up my mind that I'm getting the kbb mono. I will be going a build thread on it along with seeing how fast I can make it go, so stay tuned.

when talking V hulls tho, i feel like we should be talking about two different styles no?
          theres the deep V
          then the mono

i think theres a difference of, one does better in chop, the other better speed performance.
I guess its just trying to find a hull that is a Deep V with a ride pad in between a mono and a deep V, to try to get the best of both worlds out of it.
Then there are the stepped fountain style V as posted, which from all of my gatherings over the years, don't seem to turn well at all. I think scaling down that style hull just doesn't work well. I'm sure there are a few out there that do ok tho.

i dunno i guess I'm picking it apart too much

Nice looking boat.... But at 32" it's a bit small.
Up here in mass, when it gets choppy... It really gets choppy. I think 35" is the smallest I would go.
It's pretty frustrating when ya drive over an hour to run with some guys, and you get there, only to see 5" chop.
Sorry Travis for cluttering things up in here.
I'm looking at the 35" and pirate 35" df hulls.
Nice and affordable for my poor behind...,

No worries. The one Keith has is 34"....just the right size for what I'm doing with it. My goals are to have a very quick v hull that handles decent and handles some chop when I tone the speed down. On glass smooth water I'm expecting 80ish mph, maybe more. I'll tone it down (less cells and prop) to about 55ish for rougher water. These cats I have get upset on rough water or even running back over their own wake when running back the other way. This hull he has is much stronger and heavier laid up than a df hull...I'm going to be pushing its limits so I don't want it breaking.
