are neu motors worth the extra cash...

Guys : ur honest opinion is neu worth the difference in cost. I know they are made in the u.s.a. have better bearings, constructed better ,but are they worth twice the amount of money for a sport boat person like me I have seven different boats with seven different motors and they all seem to work very well. Depends on how and what you run. On smaller, or modded rtr boats, no. Not really. TP and Leopard are just fine for a lot of applications. Wasn't too long ago we didn't have them options. It was generally Neu, Lehner, ooooorrrrr Feigao. Most sport boaters ran Feigaos, and today's motors are far superior to those. Even the leopards.

Have used tp and leo thinking of 1515 1y 4s or 1.5y 6s in my meanmachine.

We run several boats using the 1515 1Y on 6S, but these are "SAW" boats...My buddy runs his MM on that setup, its fast, but it handles the speeds well...DJ

Neu, Neu, Neu. The statement is correct about what Rumdog states, but I love the Neu's. The reason I love the Neu's is they run much cooler and are workhorse motors. I have two of them that I bought used and have ben racing for 3 or 4 years and they are still going strong. They are just really high quality motors and you start to appreciate that over time. I am running a TP motor in a cheetah right now and it runs great and is fast and competitive(oval), but it does come back very warm in race set up. Is that a big deal? Is it really worth the extra money for the Neu? Hmmm. I suppose it just bothers me that it comes back warmer than the Neu. I say, just buy one Neu for one of your boats and see the difference. You might get hooked like I am.

In one word to answer the question YES!
I can get TP and Leopards for FREE but choose to pay for Neus,
I recently had a Neu motor fail on me, when I pulled it out of the boat I realized it was built in 2006, now thats 8 years of running, 8 seasons of racing, hundreds of runs, sprint and offshore and practice runs, 2 national titles and 5 runner ups and numerous other local and trophy race wins, just on that motor!!! A short from An exposed motor wire from bad shrink was the cause of the failure if not for that I would still be running that motor today. Now if I think an extra $125 bucks is worth 8 years of performance????? thats 15 bucks a year, well yes I would pay the extra money and not even think about it!!!
                  But thats just me???????????????????????????
