(fox88gt)(I only wish I had picked up a Stilleto when they were still available. An outboard tunnel hull will be next :D It appears I have a fever, and the only cure is more boats.[/QUOTE]
You can still have a new Stiletto, I just got one. Horizon still has new hulls and all the parts, I already had a Proboat outboard so I bought all rest of the parts from Horizon and put it together. BAM!!! Brand New Stiletto!

Well, too late for me . Unlike nicotine addiction, there is no cure for this!
Too many boats, not enough time...

That to me is beautiful scenery . I wish I could have a work shop, even a tiny one. Every time I have to make something I have to use the dinning room and table.

I would definitely buy it. Because if you do choose to race, it will come in handy. I started with RTR's and still have 3. I also have, as good as it gets: an HPR and an MHZ cat, and a custom German made Outerlimits mono. They are definitely my favorite, but there's no way I'd race them and risk getting prop-rashed by a fellow boater. That's why its nice to have some cheaper boats that can be "racers." My expensive boats are just my "runners."

My opinion everybody should own at least one stock rtr boat, when the new guy shows up with his he has something to race against or just run with. Then he's hooked!
Not really as much fun if he shows up and everybody only has high dollar rigs cooking along at twice his speed.
I still say the most fun we have is when all the SV27 owners in our group run together, 4 or 5 of those all box stock on course is a hoot!
Still one of my favorite boats, I have the old non lipo version that I bought used. Just can't seem to kill that thing, just keeps running.
                Also have a Motley Crew and a VS-1 with a K&B outboard leg and a 2030kv Aquacraft UL-1 motor.
Then there are all the other boats, think I have about 13 in total including my rescue lobster boat, 3 rc planes, a 1/12 scale indoor carpet car and my original Associated RC10 gold tub, Oh ya and the 2 rc sailboats.
Nope not an addictive hobby at all, at least the wife/girlfriend doesn't have to look too far to find you! Holed up in the basement sniffing glue and paint fumes playing with the "toy boats".
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Well I bought the cat on Saturday. I haven't had a chance to run it yet, but it sure looks nice. Seems like it was assembled well--no binding or play in the rudder, good stuffing tube alignment, looks like they upgraded the cooling hoses (compared to the Revolt), and the fit and finish was really good for an RTR. Motor mounting seems plenty stiff. I already replaced the flexshaft and installed a Grim 42 x 55 (manual recommended it, so why not try it?). LHS had the RTR version for $319 and I had a $5 off coupon. Hard to go wrong at that price. Cant wait til it warms up a little so I can get it wet.

Congrats on the Lucas! It's a great cat, I have both the Lucas and the motley and love them both. I run the GR 42x55 prop on the Lucas and have hit 41 with it, stock motor/esc. I have learned a lot from reading here and breaking/fixing things on both of these hulls. Also have the PB mystic 29 and that boat is a blast too. A lighter boat that airs out real nice!

Well Fox88GT...I'm a newbie to the game...RC helis (now quads) planes and cars are my thing, but I say if your gut says get the Lucas Oil cat...then get it. By passing it by you'll only say "Damn, I KNEW I shoulda goth that boat!" My personal dilemma, do I get the Aquacraft Motley Crew, or the Pro Boat Miss Geico...both similarly priced. I will post my dilemma here in a moment. But again...the old school saying..."Follow your first mind and you can't go wrong." Get that Lucas Oil cat! ;-)
