    BEC wiring ?

I want to install a BEC on one of my vehicles. The traditional/recommended way is for the battery to go to both the ESC, and the BEC. Then the 3 wires from the
BEC are plugged into the receiver, and the 3 wires from the ESC are plugged into the receiver,(throttle), *MINUS THE RED WIRE*.
But, what if the only slot/channel you have left on your receiver is the throttle? How bout after removing the red wire from the ESC's plug, I insert the red wire from the
BEC. Would I not be accomplishing the same thing? This may make programing with the Castle Link problematic??? don't know. Would a splitter work?
And yes, it is rocket science,--- paging Dr. Fluid

If you were to replace the RED Wire from the ESC BEC with the RED Wire from the External Battery Pack.

You Would also have to Pair the Two Black ones together in order for the batt pack to discharge into the receiver.

I don't see a big problem with it but, I am not a rocket scientist.

A: The price of their toys.

I have one of these that I used a few times, worked well. Works inline with your ESC wire. They have a 6V version also.

This is not a separate/external rx battery set-up, if it were, you would be correct in that you would have mate both positive, and negative to the source.
        perhaps a visual aide; http://www.castlecreations.com/produ...ec_wiring.html
Instead of 2 plugs into the receiver I substitute the red from the ESC, (thus disabling the built in BEC circuit in the ESC), with the red from the external BEC, and not use that
plug. Now instead of 2 plugs I'm only using 1, which is all I had room for. I believe the receivers circuit is paralleled, so it doesn't much care where it gets it's power from(?).
The negative, by the looks of it, has a predestined route back to the main battery. So, in theory the receiver, and servos get their filtered power, the ESC is relieved from
extra duty, I don't have to buy, or find a splitter that I have around here *somewhere* and I may not have to replace a ESC,(again), cuz a servo went south and smoked it.
