    Water coming through stuffing tube...

I am running a Hughey Flex Shaft (.150 flex x 3/16ths shaft) inside a teflon tube and a fullers 1 7/8" super strut. When I was first running the boat, there was no water getting inside, and now after about 10 runs, there is a small amount making its way up the tefoln tube. I assume its because the shaft has seated itself inside the lead insert bearing in the strut after these few runs (when I first got it there was no lateral play with the shaft inside the strut, but there is a small amount now). I have tried cable grease and oil on the shaft, but still get a small amount (maybe 1/2 teaspoon) of water in the hull after 6min run time. I fairly sure the water is coming up the inside of the teflon tube (between the liner and cable), and not the outside (between the stuffing tube and teflon liner) since the liner is sealed where it exits the stuffing tube in the hull.

I have tried a float test in the bath tube and no water comes in, so I guess its just when its actually running and the prop is spinning it gets in.

Wondering if this is normal, and/or is there anything I can do to reduce the seepage?

What about using a water tight radial bearing in place of the lead insert in the strut, can you get them to fit the Fullers strut?
