When there was a "Hobby Show" in Toronto Canada, it was pathetic and the last one at least 3 years ago was $12 for admission, per day! At the last show there was one major RC vendor and no Tamiya, no Thunder Tiger, no nothing. Total crap and 1/4 of the size it was years before.

There is a budding show out of Mississauga that was free last year but, I never made it. I heard it was all ARF crap. At least they had a car track and indoor flying show. I'll go this fall if they have it again and admission was FREE!

Why so angry Ray? What can you do for $10 bucks these days? Not much. I have been attending the show for 40 years and this was one of the better ones. I love seeing all the airplanes and other things. This year had more boat stuff than usual too. (My dad and I used to go for 2 days and watch all the demos.) Don't spoil other peoplse fun because your not having any.

Just exclaiming how pitiful the show has been up here, not angry. I suppose if I talked to you on the phone I'd come off a lot different then online.

I'm not angry at all, just explaining the difference between the two I guess. I love the Toledo show. It's always a fun show. Just can't justify the gas like Jay mentioned.

I do apologize for coming off angry as it wasn't my intention.

I can do a hell of a lot for free if I'm keen and catch a deal here and there. It cost me nothing to go for a walk and enjoy the weather, etc...

I pay nothing for tv although I hardly turn it on to see all 12 stations in HD.

I have known you for a long time Ray. On line or in person....I'm only 2 hours away but it is $50 in gas. You need the Cheaper US gas.

Two hours, what the heck, no way. It takes me two hours plus and $50 in gas to get to the border. I am not working at this time either so, $50 is not always easy to come up with then there is the food costs the sad dollar exchange. Remember I'm still driving a 99' Pontiac with tons of miles on it. Just bought a rad and hoses, repairing that first so I can just get around. I'm good though, I have some friends that help me fix up my car. In return I cook for them or fix their electronic gadgets.
            414km minimum to Toledo.

Edit* The $50 would get me to Toledo,, then $50 for the way back. The money is better spent going to a race in the area imo. Hopefully I can work that out this year.

The Toledo Show is going to be mostly planes, after all the club that has been putting on this show for the past 57 years is the Toledo Weak Signals, which of course is R/C planes.
If R/C boating wants more coverage, they're going to have to make an effort to do so. That means renting a table or two and packing some inventory into a trailer just like the rest of the vendors, distributors and manufacturers do.
Maybe a little nudge here and there to get some of these folks to do so might help. I simply can't believe all these companies and vendors involved with RC boats have no interest in the Toledo Show. I guess that's their problem.

TP Power and TFL was represented quite well. Someone somewhere out there bought a Zonda cat from them. They had a small sampling of boats/hulls which were also for sale as well as tons of hardware.

TP Power had an assortment of engines and Hi-Fei Swordwish ESC's. They also had a TON of CNC props as well as 1 of the Hydro & Marine knock-off type riggers. I guess they had a cat also, but the luggage got lost at the airport...

I ended up going back to take care of some business with my JAE rigger and take my Dad out to the show. Scooped up a few deals too, which never hurts.
42" Osprey, 32" Pursuit, 26" Bling Rocket (rescue), Blizzard Rigger, JAE 21FE rigger, Hobby King rigger (RIP)

Well, I had a great time. Went with some freinds. We were on a quest for a few things and for once I didn't feel pressure to get back get back get back. We ended up leaving with a new charger and some carefully chosen cells for my new LS Sport.

The TFL booth was very interesting to me as they had some hardware that I'd never seen before. Nice stuff. I'll be in touch with them for sure.

We also caught the indoor fly which is such an outrageous display of skill I was at times slack jawed.
