Advise on stinger position on twin cat build

im building a twin fc cheetah and trying to decide if it matters where i place the stingers on the inside middle or outside of lower pad. id like to push them out to try and fit a through hull water pick up but im not sure if i move the stingers off center if it will affect the performance. Any adivce would be great!
