looking for a mono-hull plan (or kit)

    hi everyone

I've just finished building my first FE. there was a vague plan to turn a 16inch balsa cat not designed for RC in to little speed demon.

I'm probably committing some sort of sin but there is a detailed build thread on another forum which describe some of my trials and tribulations. for those that are interested i experimented with laminating the balsa in ladies tights, it just like an ultra fine glass cloth and worked out quite well!

I now realise I bit off more than i can chew, while it runs what i've built is a delicate little creature which would no doubt benefit from some fine tuning that i'm still to learn about. With this in mind I'd like to build a more of a sensible sized monohull, the hardest bit of the last build was getting everything to fit in such a small hull so I'd like something bigger. I've also found out i need really flat water to run the tunnel hull/cat. using the simple ruler on the bench technique I'm guessing something in the region of 25inch to 30inch is a more sensible size. I'm willing to listen to advice though on what is a good size monohull to be starting out with??!! I'd also like to build it myself, wood + fibreglass skin because thats what i'm used to and enjoy working with. something that uses pretty standardised parts would be good, its been difficult hunting down micro sized stuff for my first build!

Can someone point me in the direction of plans for a mono-hull that would suit my requirements? I've done my best to search for one and haven't had much luck.

I've also been dreaming about a laser cut monohull FE kit but can't seem to find anything suitable either. It complicates matters living in the UK but if anyone knows of a wooden kit for a 25-30inch monohull i'd be really interested (the postage might scare me though!) i know it would be a lot easier if i wanted a fibreglass hull but I just love wooden boats and the smell of epoxy!
