I would like to know how fast (or slow) my boat (Revolt 30) is running. What brand GPS devices are you guys having good luck with? I don't need anything fancy, would just like to know mph. Small and lightweight is a must.

Hobbyking GPS or Voltron. I have the HK version and have no issues with it other than price seems high for a HK brand.42" Osprey, 32" Pursuit, 26" Bling Rocket (rescue), Blizzard Rigger, JAE 21FE rigger, Hobby King rigger (RIP) -
If you have an iPhone you can get a free app for mph recording and if your worried about getting it wet you can get waterproof cases cheap.Comment

I've made several passes with my 1/8 scale car carrying both the HK GPS and a Garmin, from 35mph to 100mph. Readings were consistant between the two devices each time.Comment

Eagle Tree $$$$ but you can use it in anything. My Re Volt has run 45.7 with 45x68 prop and 44.7 with the stock one. Not sure why but I have lost a solid 5 mph lately. I was out today after going over the whole boat the only thing I feel is the motor has gotten weaker. Check Galley pixs I just removed thrust bearing no change in MPH.Do It Like You Mean It .....or Don't BotherComment

How are your batteries? After less than 2 seasons of logging and testing my mid grade packs are dropping a volt more under load than high end batteries the exact same age. Makes a noticeable difference in speed being down a couple thousand rpm.If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?Comment

Hk units is light and tiny so can be acommodated in small boats and have worked good for me.Also the Garmin etrex is a good option for larger boats but Eagle tree is what I would suggest too. GillGO FAST AND TURN RIGHT !
