I wouldn't try to fit the thrust bearing through, just the motor shaft and circlip.

The bearing doesnt have to be against the motor, just between the mount and the collet?

Or will it rest on the larger shaft?

You want the thrust to be transferred to the mount. So you could sandwich the bearing between the mount and the collet. To ensure the motor bearing takes no load, I've been thinking of removing the circlip - with the thrust bearing in place - but I have not thought it through. Maybe someone who has tried it can chime in.

I was told that these motors were run on the boat, but the clip does not fit thru the hole, so I dont know.
