Silicone water jacket

Using some silicone caulk will work - for a little while. These coolers just do not work that well, none of the ones I tried lasted very long before developing leaks, losening the little metal inlet/outlet tubes, etc. Other club members noted the same things. They do work great at filling your model up with water! Bottom line - they are temporary coolers for when you have nothing else....

Thanks Fluid. Problem I have is I have a Castle 1515 2200 in my Genesis and to put a different type of cooler on it is where I have trouble. My motor mount has the back support ring on it for the weight of the motor, and with a Aluminum water cooling jacket on it I cant put the ring on it to support it.

If that motor has raised heat sink rings around it (looks like it does in your pics) it's going to tear the 'O' rings when you try to side it on/off. I would wipe down the motor with the H2O jacket in place with paint thinner or alcohol & put a silicone bead around both ends. Have a roll of paper towels handy to clean up. If you want the seal to look great, here's a trick I used building all glass aquariums: Right after you apply the beads, wet the tip of your index finger with saliva & smoothe the bead with the wet finger tip. May take a few returns to the spit factorywith your finger (it's not poisonous, but a bit tangy) as you work around the beads. Use paper towels to remove silicone from your finger between wetting trips. JIM

Thank for the tip Jim, I do that all the time, I just use water. As for the pin hole its on the top where the lines go in, if you move it just right it sprays. I just ordered a Alum. Water jacket from OSE that is made for this motor with the ribs and a new silicone one from Kintec just in case.Modified Jae21, Stock Jae21, Cheetah, Ul-1, Shock Wave 26 V2 (Rescue Boat).Comment
