Amen on that, OSE is what other Internet FE Boat vendors should be measured against. I can't say enough about the exellent service I get from Steve. I order over the weekend and the product is delivered by the following Thursday at the latest.....and I'm in Southern California.

    Kudos to OSE.

Gotta love SAWS.....I never use cooling jackets

There is a reason we made one special for the Keda. You can attempt to squeeze it on but you may or may not ruin a bunch of orings doing it.

Oh, I thought the Keda was possibly from the same manufacturer as the Leopard/Tacon/Hobby King XK motors. Those all share the same sleeve. I know this first hand. Just a little lube and slip it on.....wait that sounded a little prevy

This is an XK 4082 motor with a Leopard 4070 sleeve that I got from OSE.

Sorry. I didn't know that might have not been the case with the Keda motor.

Thank you very much, I appreciate that. For me, this is a very expensive hobby & shipping plays a large part in the cost of it because most everything needed has to be ordered online (my lhs isn't a good option for variety or savings, that's for sure). This hobby is exciting and fun & with a limited income, every dollar saved helps! I've done lots of shipping and know that costs can be kept pretty low. I do realize that there is a lot more going into the shipping process and the wonderful customer service that comes with it here - and I certainly don't begrudge OSE for that either :)
I only meant to ask if there were cheaper options available or not - because I didn't see more options on the checkout page.

Since the 2364kv's had sold out, I have been considering other motor options. I decided I could work with one of the 1060kv Keda motors on 8s, and so I put 1 of the motors and one water jacket into the shopping cart today, and went through the checkout process- thought it would be a bit cheaper to ship just one. There is no option cheaper than $14.30 for either method though. I can't see spending about $83 to get one of these motors with a cooling jacket to my door unfortunately. The deal here for a Leopard 4074 motor with free cooling jacket comes out to a less expensive $12.55 shipping somehow, so it would almost make more sense to that route for a better motor. But the appeal of the Keda to begin with was that it was only $46

Is part of it my zip code in minnesota? I don't know why it would be, but when I change whatever the default zip code is that's always in that box first back to my zip code, it jumps a few dollars, or more everytime.

It's true, Ive been spoiled by low or free shipping options out there. I can order an entire airframe or rtr boat from many online retailers usually 10-20% off of retail price AND get free shipping. And those are very large packages. And customer service has been great at those sites as well. So it's just tough to get over the mental block of having to pay more than actual shipping charges for items - even for the best customer service.

I'm probably in the wrong hobby as far as money goes, but I enjoy it & hope I can still get a lot out of it even with my limited funds. It just means having to be thrifty and keep an eye out for the really good deals when I can. (which I suppose is why I was so excited for the Keda deal in the first place :) ) In fact, the for-sale forum here is entire reason why I even have more than a single boat!

I'm by no means saying anything negative about OSE, and I hope I'm not coming off that way at all. As I said before, this site and everyone involved here are the sole reason I've been able to dive in & enjoy this hobby and learn about it and grow with it.

High shipping is a small price to pay compared to a lost or returned item while it seems unessasary think about joy getting anything at all , compared to the hobbyking shipping crap shoot sounds pretty reasonable to me

Steve is right, I have a KEDA motor and a 40x50 jacket on it. The jacket can be squeezed on but you will damage the O-rings. I greased my motor right up but I had to force the jacket on. I have not had any leaks from the jacket but I am still gonna buy the Keda one. I know I am gonna have a big problem getting the old jacket off.

Of the numerous orders ever placed with OSE Steve has refunded me the freight difference every single time, if thats what it costs him to ship it, thats what it costs him to ship it, if thats too expensive, maybe seek a less reliable, respected place to purchase a motor and hope that we aren't discussing your bogus or missing motor in a future thread
