Paint tips?? SprayMax 2K looks good to me.

I hate painting with a passion. I see that some guys are using SprayMax paint and it looks like it is working real nice. This is what I am going to order, my question is what kind of paint can I use for a base coat and not worry about the paint peeling up with hatch tape or get all weird when I apply the clear over it.

I think you have answered your own question......stick with products from the same manucturer and follow their instructions. Also flash time is really important

The SprayMax 3680061, 2K Urethane Glamour Clear Coat paint offers many benefits. Buy this 2K urethane aerosol clear coat spray can at R & E Paint Supply.

I use the same stuff on all my boats now.
I have sprayed the clear over Tamaya, duplicolor, and even rustoleum paints and it is rock
solidand does not peel from removing the tape. not to mention it is fuel proof as well. :-)

Douggie, you may be right, in the past I mix and match primers, bases and clears and that is where I probably screw up. I was going to order their base but after watching their vids it looks like the base coat is a 1K base and not 2k like the primer and the Clear. I figured if the base is just 1k then I could save some cash and just paint the base with anything. My biggest concern is that the base adheres to the primer correctly and the tape doesn't pull the paint off the primer. I may have to give that place a call and find out exactly what products I should buy.

Another point I am not a fan of a clear coat finish as it is very hard to fix minor scrapes etc. A normal top coat is very easy to repair either by polishing it out or applying new paint to the damaged area with a clear coat finish this is not possible without extensive repair work.
