Best brushless racing boat out ATM?

Hi everyone, haven't been into rc boats for a while now. Just wondering what's the best brushless race boat out? I used to have a df26" boat which was really fast but everything seemed to blow up on me lol. I also want something with the 540 motor setup not 380 as I would probably get a 2200 kv 4082 leopard and run it on 4s or something like that. I want as much speed as possible and still have long run times without the motor getting too hot also. If someone could help me out what's the best boat Hull and electrics combo (motor, esc, batts) that would be great. Thanks alot

Are you actually goint to race it? Or, do you want agood sport boat. It really can be two completely diff. boats. Also, how much do you want to spend to get a good boat?
There are some pretty nice RTR's out at the moment too.

Once you make up your mind let us know. In the mean time, in no particular order you have the following choices for good quality RTRs:

                Aquacraft Motley Crew cat
                ProBoat Miss Geico cat
                Aquacraft SuperVee 27R mono

The above will hit mid-30s out of the box but with minor tuning and a prop change can be in the mid/upper-40s. For more speed you'll have to change the motor, etc.

There are others like the Traxxas Spartan - but don't buy that one until they fix all the problems. Too bad as it is an attractive boat with potential, just a poor execution.

Most RTRs come with a radio. If you do not have a 2.4 gig radio you'd be advised to try the RTR radios, most are quite good just basic.

It's kinda like the "Ford vs Chevy" argument. Which is better? You'll never get the same answer every time.

I would suggest one of the RTR's from Horizon Hobby. Their parts are a LOT cheaper than Aquacraft and in my opinion the quality is a bit better (ford or chevy).

I wouldn't obsess on the radio being included. Perfectly good radios can be had for under $50.

Horizon has a new boat coming out in August I believe, It looks really good to me. Might be worth waiting for!

Motley crew is fast but very flimsy! One blow over and all the bracing under the hatch popped off, motor mount allows motor to flex up and down, bottom of the tub I think I could almost put my finger through!
Once again it is fast and handles quite well, I have a few doubts after one days running about the longevity of this hull. But I love the speed and handling! Corners almost as well as my JAE rigger.
Now that I've seen them side by side the Geico is a better built boat, wasn't able to run them side by side today so no real comparison in a side by side on the water shoot out. But on the bench Geico hands down better boat. I don't own the Gieco I own the Crew!
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Well I mainly have these boats in mind. Genesis from hobbyking, geicko and Mystic 29. I mainly want a boat for just speed runs! I wanted to put a 4082 2200kv motor in either boat. I'm not sure it will fit in the genesis motor mountand I'm not sure about the mystic 29 and gecko. I was thinking of running that on 6s with a 180amp speedy. How does that sound to u guys? Let me know what boat you think would be best for the most top speed and best for top speed runs! And about motor choice?

Well I think I made a decision. A hobbyking genesis catamaran! I would take the stock motor out and put In a leopard 4082 2200kv motor with 2x4s 4000mah in parallel. Then get a 180 amp esc from hobbyking. What do you guys think about the boat choice and electrics. What kind of speed do u think I will get with that setup? Thanks for ya help

2200KV is too much for 6S! 4S will be OK.
