whats the best cap bank for the t180 /seaking180

Sorry to start a thread but after a few hours on the search button I finally want the answer.
Can you use these http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=etti-e041 the Etti Capacitor Bank for High Voltage 63V 5000u? or stick with these
http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...035-lv&cat=136 the Etti Capacitor Bank 35 volt?

I need to get some and don't mind over kill but I'm unsure if the 63v will work or cause problems on the t180 esc's?

You dont need more then 50volt caps using the T180. As far as how much capacitance to add opinion varies. Some of the technical folks here have stated no more then an additional 3000 mfd for voltages at or less then 22 volts (6S). For high voltage setups the number seems to be 5000 mfd with 63 vdc caps. Are these values the correct amount? I dont honestly know. My own opinion is 100% above what the factory put on your esc, Is that the right amount? Not one factory technical guy has chimed in. There are issues with too much capacitance, unfortunately a wall or limit has not been defined. I'm going to stick with the 100% additional as my limit. At least its double what the factory installed.

i believe i saw tony/propperchopper running the latter one with his t180's. He won his heats that day so he may know what he is doing.

I added 2 1000, 35v caps to my T180 and noticed a drop in temps. The only time they get hot still is when I rum a 1512 in my Miss Geico. But with the 3424 1800KV outrunner I normally run they barely get warm.

Don't know if that helps, but that's my experience with the t180 and extra caps.

I ran the T180 with the etti 35 v cap bank on my P-mono last season with good results.

Ive used this etti bank on a ton of of Seaking/Turnigy 180's ... works perfect and is so easy to install... also like how its fairly easy to fit in spaces because its low profile...

So if you add a etti cap bank, does that mean running 6 cell on the sk180 would be more feasible than running without and worrying about meltdown.

I would like to try 6 cell but I dont want to max it out..Would adding the bank on make it more reliable on 6s is what Im trying to say..

What is the added benefit of adding the caps? Im clueless..

Lots of threads about adding and additional caps. To be safer when running 6S, I would definitely add caps. Some have done it without modification succesfully, but lots have blown the esc doing it (running 6S).
