I'm glad you were able to move the strut up enough to clear the bottom of the boat Diesel. That will make a big difference in the handling.
What are you going to use for sealing the gap between the stinger & the hull?

On my pursuit their is also a gap between the stinger and the hull and I made a seal around it using rtv and it worked very well. I planned on doing the same with this, but as always I am open to suggestions. I am sure a few o-rings to make up the difference would work as well.

On the Osprey the teflon liner comes out the transom about 1/2" into the stinger, I cut a piece of 6mm id x 11mm od silicon tube around 6.5mm long & slide it on the teflon tube then fit the stinger so the stinger squashes the tube against the transom. Same idea as an o ring this stops water going straight into an open stuffing tube that is their other wise. Martin.

they do have stringers in boats too but they are reinforcements for the hull......................

I do know the difference. Just a mistake that I make not the first time won't be the last either I'm sure. I always mess there and their as well. I'm sure witht the pictures and discussion everyone understands the point I'm trying to make.

I think my pursuit was setup similar with the teflon extending into the stinger I forget though. On this hull the teflon is the exact size of the stuffing tube. Goes end to end of the tube and doesn't extend. The way this boat is setup the flex will be exposed between the gap. I may order a new piece of teflon and make it longer extending into the stinger.

I do like the dual water pickup rudder on the osprey better then the one on the vanquish. I wish they would have used that rudder instead of the single pickup one and dump the transom pickup. Although the transom pickup they installed is nice hardware I just like the other way better. I may order that rudder down the road.

I just picked mine up at the PO a few hours ago, I still have not opened the box. I will get to it in a few hours and report back about the hardware issue.

hi all i have had my hk vanquish for about a month so far i have removed all hardware including stuffing tube and carbon fibre'd the base only from transom to about 2 inches past the hatch opening before i reinforce the transom can someone give me a list of the maximum heights i should mount my hardware at for example the stinger bottom at its highest position should be 2mm above the bottom of the hull in the neutral position

No clue bud. Evertime I start getting stuff done I find an issue plus I am still awaiting some more items to arrive. Batts, bullets ect.....

What Martin suggested is what I also do.
The tube I use is a soft silicon muffler extension for nitro cars from the local hobby shop.
Any tube the right size will do. As long as it fits tightly into the stinger & over the stuffing tube.
The first pic is with the extension sitting on the trim tab & a short piece fitted to the stinger. Slightly longer than the gap to allow for a compression seal.
The second pic is with it all bolted up.
Clean & simple.

Yep, I did the same thing on my Osprey last year. The strut design is odd. Not sure why they left such a big water sucking gap in there...

Just got my Vanquish today. I'm not sure this is a TFL hull, it is different from the Osprey and the parts are cheapened up, like it's a copy of a copy. Definitely needs some reinforcement. Now, to find me a 1717 mount with rails.
