Check about 10 threads down under Bushnell radar gun, I asked a simular Question about the radar guns & a couple of guys use the Garmin Forerunner 101 & the 201 to good effect. Thanks Martin.

You wont be sorry if you buy it. Small, light, waterproof and have a rechargeable battery. The best piece of test equipment I have.

just picked it up, came with 2 charging cords, docking station and the connector to hook it up to the computer for analysis, cant wait to get some speed readings next time out, just put a new prop on my apparition and also cant wait to see how fast my red evo hydroplane is going on the vilenion vxl3s system i put in there cause i know its breaking thru 50's easy.

Set it to MAX. speed and it will record and save it for you to view.

Go to the menu and pick "custom". I have mine set for Max speed on top and avg speed and time on the bottom. I also set the minimum MPH to 10 so it pauses at anything under that.

Unless I'm doing something wrong, I believe you have to hit the start button for it to start looking for the max and average speed. With the hand held marine GPS's I have used on my real boats, all you had to do was turn it on.
