PS: my vote is a firm no. The FE guys that have to compromise in order to share a facility with the nitro guys who are unwilling to accomodate FE should do what we have tried to do and develope their own situation.
Would you still race?

Even as a new recruit to FE boating.....I can tell you I would not de-tune to run with nitro. 10 yrs ago would any self respecting gas racer de-tune to run with a nicd or nimh boat? Doubt it. I have been in RC for 25 yrs and new tech, is always happening. The new FE boats are the most fun I have had in this whole hobby. If you like tuning carbs{sux}...and throwing your boat in on a plane...then by all means keep doing so. But, In my mind there is no question that FE is superior and will only get more so. We can all agree that we love this hobby, but I dont think anyone should be asked to downgrade their boat for fairness. Trust me gas guys...I ran nitro trucks for yrs.....and FE causes far less annoyances. Convert brothers! At one time ESC's were considered an unfair advantage over rheostat speed controls!...and they were right! Maybe we have to have seperate classes, but it seems like nitro clubs are shrinking and FE....well.....is "charging" in popularity.Comment

Come to a D13 Grand Prix race and you'll see first hand what the result of a little compromise in the beginning can mean down the road.

Five FE only classes is enough to keep the best of em busy on race day.
Danny did you get the information you were seeking?

Don F and I spoke on the phone this evening, all misunderstandings created due to typed text as opposed to verbal communication has been resolved. My statement that caused quite a stir, is now understood and the intent behind the original verbage of the rule is clearer to me now. For the sake of future confusion and possible conflict, the verbage is being considered for a rewrite.
Most of you read it the way it was intended, but some of you saw it the same way I did at first. I lost a friend through this experience, but learned a lot. Thank you everyone that voted and expressed opinions. All the input helped me greatly.
