    Which prop pulls more amps?

Curious about a couple of props specifically but am curious overall as well.

Would an x645(2.832 tp) produce more amp draw than an x452(2.872 tp)?

Also which would provide more speed in a mono............

Does a 452 push more water, and the 645 less water faster............?

    Thanks for your input!

Why not just test them on your boat with temp gauge and GPS?

I'm wondering which is more efficient, is there a formula for amp draw using a temp gauge and gps?

As a general rule, in most boats with the prop behind the hull they are surface piercing props and they are not 100% submerged continously. This means that the 452 will have more blade area submerged than the 645, which means more amps and probably-possibly more speed if the motor can handle it.
In some applications the 645 may work better but in some others the 452 may work better, depends on the size of the boat mainly. I think that the 452 will draw more amps than the 645.

The amp draw and everything about a prop is also dependent on your set up....

Generally, the more low end torque youll get from a lower pitch number, a higher one will give you more top end speed.

However, like disar and I mentioned, it's all dependent on your setup. Real world example would be a simple speedboat, I've had a mastercraft speed prop thrown onto my 4winns bow cruiser... had trouble getting on plane... Just a ton of low end power but couldn't get up speed. Same thing for these boats, the wrong prop will kill you. But yes your thinking is correct.. in general
