    How would you fix this?

I'm open to suggestions. It's a mini V abs? hull. Crash dummy for obvious reasons.

If it were mine, I'd just get another bare hull.

I was thinking foam and epoxy.

Diegoboy, I don't think they sell bare hulls, and if they did, it probably wouldn't be worth the effort. I got two of them with the same problem, from crashing in the pool, the tips breaks so easily. I won't be running them in the pool anymore.

epoxy on abs, does not stick.
          option 1 :
glue some glasscloth in the remaining nose. Use CA as glue.
Then you've a good base for epoxy and foam.
          option 2 :
say to yourself : so, the learning-season has ended, crashed my first hull,
now I'm no longer a rookie, and upgrade myself to a epoxyhull-owner.

Learning lesson? Rookie? This is about my 7th hull. I got two of them for us to play in the pool with while on vacation. Now I am going to play around with it a bit. I am testing a motor for AEO motor company, and thought this would be a good hull to play around with. Maybe you should search some of my threads here, I am new to the forum, but not new to boating.

Get a real hull made of fiberglass and don't blow anymore money on plastic.you can find bare fg hulls cheap.

                        Buy a spare hull?

I have a spare hull I could part with. UPS will be about $6 or $7 I think to NY, so how about $15 for a new hull delivered to you if you are interested.

If so, what color do you want?

                        Brian

Oh, also takes Jim advice. I personally don't seem to follow it, but I have heard that idea works!

Well I know most of you don't know me, but I have no problem driving. I haven't raced boats in competition, but back in the 90's I was a 1/12 4 cell sponsored on road racer. I won the NE ROAR nationals against 90 other drivers. Needless to say driving a boat is about 1/10 as challenging as driving my old 4 cell cock-a-roach on steroids at more than 2 turns per second. Picture the mini eco and you get the idea.

We just bought the two boats because I was on vacation at my Dad's house in Florida, and me and my kids wanted to race around the pool. The skimmer sticks out a little, and it seemed if you just touched it, or looked at it wrong, the tip of the hull broke. They were a ton of fun in that small space, and we brought them back with us. Now I just want to do something crazy with what I have lying around. I love the mini and micro boats.

I appreciate the offer, but if I was going to spend money on a hull instead of just using what I got lying around, I would buy a mini eco, or a taipan hull, or something fiberglass. We just had these, and I have a few ideas on how to fix it, I just wanted to hear any other suggestions.

Jeez guys, give him a break! He asked a perfectly valid question.

It is a challenge to fix ABS. Epoxy will hold well enough if you rough up the plastic first. I would carve a block of balsa wood to fit fairly well up into the nose and then mix epoxy with micro baloons to a bondo consistency and start filling. Some really lightweight cloth will help also.

The easiest thing to do is order a new hull for $37!
