Painting a Vac-U-Pickle

Anyone ever use auto clearcoat basecoat paints on the vacuum formed Vac_U-Pickles?
do they work will they stick well?

Should work well Jim what auto clearcoat paints are you thinking of using? but I do not own that hull..the base primer coat is the critical one with simillar paints applied thereafter

PPG Omni can't rmrmber the primer but it is made for the clear coat base coat system

Have your painter add flexible additive to the clear to prevent cracking of the paint.

I used Krylon fusion on mine. It is made for plastics.

Called my PPG dealer and they do infact have a product to make the clear more flexible
only problem is it is $30.00 a pint. Expensive little pint

i've had no problems using ppg clear without flex in it. the hulls just dont flex enough to cause a problem. in fact i have never even found an application its ever needed on a car really....

oh if i were painting raw plastic abs hull i would first scuff hull with soap and water then rinse, second clean with rubbing alcohol, third spray plastic adhesion promotor, wait 1/2 hour and spray basecoat on, lastly clear. thats assuming you are using automotive products thru an HVLP spraygun.
