I agree. What is so bad about a better running hull? Mod yours, or buy a better running hull. Why is change such a bad thing to some? Maybe we should be racing Model T's in NASCAR too huh?

Wow Doug, I thought you were a better person than that. To come on to a thread about a certain boat and then caution people not to buy it because a tweek to the rules to ban it are in order is ridiculous. The G4 was already accepted legal in IMPBA and this is just a smaller version of that boat so why would'nt this boat be acceted. The boat was made around the excisting rules and now because its better than the rest you think its not fair or legal and changes should be made. I sounds to me like sour grapes and maybe there is something to what the last two post had to say.

I'm going to go out on a limb here since I don't know you or don't know what boats or experience you have but it just sounds to me like your upset that these new boats are either going to force you to either upgrade from what you currently run or risk being beat by one and have to make excuses.

I am going to state a point, non racers could not care less if a hull meets the rules and a stable easy to setup hull is going to win them over as opposed to a difficult hull setup and allow more newbies to enjoy the hydro experience. Racing is a different kettle of fish...there are rules to be exploited (just look at Formula one)...it is expensive....every year in the real racing world they draw up new rules to meet the demands of new technology....we mere mortals benefit from their endeavours.....end of sermon.

Mark - I will try and clean up my verbage. My intent was to relay caution to those racers that travel the country to NAMBA and IMPBA races. This is a dedicated group of racers that are and have been striving for uniform and clearly written rules for both organizations so that the racing side of this sport/hobby has a chance to flourish. There has been a number of racers both NAMBA and IMPBA that has indicated a problem with this design. Hence the word caution.
I wish someone would have cautioned me when 2P was allowed. I am sitting on thousands of dollars of hulls, motors, esc's, hardware etc. Because the majority went to 1P spec all this *!***!***!***!** is collecting dust.
And no sour grapes for me. I race competitive/fun. Not that important to see my name on the internet. Looking forward to racing one at the Colorado Nats. Another caution for you all. Never seen a Whiplash get beat yet.

Brent, Mr. Peterson is a highly respected builder/racer who has contributed vastly to keeping FE going long before you and I ever grabbed a transmitter. Same goes for Alan N. I respect their opinions, which as I see it, come from deep concern for the racing realm. While it matters little what design boats we use for fun running, when it comes to racing, which both of these gents are quite dedicated and serious about, there should be ample consideration given to what they are saying. Although it's obvious that I have a personal investment in the FE 30 launch and would like to see it become "part of", it's design advantage, such as it is, must be worthy of discussion, agree or disagree.Comment

I thought (maybe I am wrong) that the boats in the class were to look at least somewhat like boats that had run?
I will say I have seen Greg Schweers boat run and it is very fast and stable. I personally would not get one as I like my boats to actually look like hydros that have run and the hull design does not.

As a rookie who has contributed nothing to racing but does enjoy it, I just don't get it. The guy builds a hull with the rules in mind, tests it, and begins to sell it, now folks want to change the rules on him? Did I get that right? Seems a bit wrong.
And as for you Mr. Peterson, does beating you with a whip count as seeing one losing?
(Best Hulk Hogan voice) Whatcha gonna do when I come after you!!
Sorry that's the first bit of bench racing I have seen this year.Comment

You all are reading too much into this. As far as I know, no rules have been broken and no new rules are being discussed. Loosen those shorts fellas.
I simply am / was passing along what I have been reading and being told by racers that have been involved in this sport way longer than me.
If you like the Hull - buy it.
Teach - My whip has been beat. Couple times actually. By another whip. I am bringing him to Colorado with me. So I will see your whip and then raise you one whip.
