    A 32" cat?

    guys,
I'm planning to build a 32" cat, still hesitating between the really nice one from Scotty at SkunkWork, the original H&M Agitator, the HOTR and the Godspeed from Revolutionshop, budget would be $600 max without batteries, my choice of course is allready leading me to the chinese stuff, the SkunkWork cat would be expensive due to shipping cost to France too bad.
The main question is what do you guys would put in there? 540 9XL under 4S, 540 12XL or 580L under 6S, I've seen many HOTR cat with 8XL or 9XL but is it reliable on a 32"?

i have run 6,7,8,9 xl motors on 4s. i think the old favourite 8xl was the better one.
a 12xl on 6s would probably be a better setup
i dont like the 580l motors.
some thing else to look at steve has the leopard 2200kv motors, look like a castle/neu
    sounds like they run well

thanks for the info Ozzie, I did not even consider anything else than Feigao's but I'm open and this one seems to be a beast with 1500W, and it's a 4 poles motor so more torque than Feigao's!
        any other ideas?

one question regarding the Leopard, may be Steven is reading, with a KV of 2200 isnt it a amp hog? I bet it is as it can provide more power than a Feigao XL, what prop can I expect to spin?

before you get the godspeed, look at the thread "one cool lookin cat" at the end. Not so good of a deal it seems.

yeah I did read that one!
actually I'm reviewing the buid thread of Ozzie's HOTR cat I realized I posted on that one, that was in 2007!
Fluid, as always, came with valuable info on this thread, so I think I'm going to follow him, a 9XL under 4S and a big cheap ESC, that was my first idea so I'll be using the same batteries as my mono!
Scott, did you reinforced the hull? that's always the same question as everybody keep saying it is necessary, but my DF copy with the 8XL did not crack after 3 years...

I like my cat from Scott
                The hull is very stiff
There is no carbon fiber in the tunnel

yes i always add C/F to the floor and up the sides, the seams can split very easy and the sponsons can crack at the steps, this generally doesnt happen till after 60mph tho . getting a new hotr hull myself, first thing will be C/F
i think the leopard being only a few $$$ more then the feigao would be my choice
slightly more kv than a 8xl,but being 4 pole and higher efficiency should be much better, close to a 1515 1y but less $$$

yeah I know the Skunk cat is nice, I wish shipping cost would be lower between US and France so basically for almost the same money I can get a H&M Agitator
BTW I'll keep an eye on the Leopard motor
