Hobby King Cat (Surge Crusher) hull repair

As some of you know I got home from my last run and discoverd cracks in the hull of my Surge Crusher. I decided to try and fix it. I may have gone a little over board with the repair but It won't break again.

I cut the motor mount out with a dremel and ground down around the cracks.
Then started with a layer of fiberglass.

Ground down the high spot so that the wood would sit flat

I ordered a motor mount off ebay as i cut out the stock one.
I am not sure if I will wait for it will probably fabricate one.
next I need to fill in the cracks in the hull sand smooth then I am goind to paint the tunel of the hull. probably black or dark grey have not decided yet.
I should have weighed the hull before and after oh well it didn't add an overly large amout of weight.

I think the wood was massive overkill.

I have a 25" DF knock off boat, it was thin also. I never had any cracks though.

I ended up with two layers of carbon fiber in the rear. Wont break now :)

Is the new motor mount going to be mounted on the wood? Will the motor line up with the current stuffing tube or are you re doing that too.

Yes the motor mount will be mounted on the wood. I don't have a motor mount yet so I don't know if it will line up we'll see
