I have a Drifter L that is 37"long.I talked to Joe at Castle about a motor and esc setup to run 60 to 70 mph.He said to use a Neu 1527/1.5Y and a CC240HV on 8s.I think its doable but very costly.Anyone have any suggestions on a motor/esc/lipo combo? It also has a .150 flex too.Maybe Im asking too much out of the flex for this kind of power and speed? It will pretty well be a SAW boat too by the way. What about a LittleScreamers motor?

.150 will be the weak link. Step up to .187. I will be running a drifter L this weekend with a lehner 2250 8s and castle ice 200. I will post some results.Steven Vaccaro

I bought it from FDM and they epoxied the brass tube in the hull. Will a .187 need a bigger tube? Not sure what size is in there now for the .150.Comment

You may be able to run the 0.187" cable in the brass stuffing tube without the teflon. I haven't run teflon for over a decade (except for the stock UL-1). As long as you use a good lube there is no downside.
That's a good power suggestion for that hull BTW.
